Mark Gray FAICD, SF (Fin), Chairman and Executive Director

Mark is an accomplished Chairman and Company Director, highly experienced across a range of corporate, government and not-for-profit entities. In addition, he has an outstanding record of significant achievement in strategic leadership, executive management and corporate governance across both the private and public sectors.

Mark has very extensive relevant knowledge skills and experience in financial services and management (including superannuation), trade and investment, and economic development, and was awarded a Prime Minister’s Centenary Medal for services to banking and finance in 2003.

He is currently the Chairman of Sugar Terminals Limited, and a Non-Executive Director of Data#3, Queensland Urban Utilities, genomiQa, Queensland Cricket and the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Federation Board and Queensland Section).  His previous appointments include Airtrain Citylink, Oaks Hotels and Resorts, Max Frank (Australia), Queensland Treasury Corporation, Griffith University, Queensland Art Gallery, Queensland Library Foundation and Urban Futures Brisbane.

Mark is the former Under Treasurer (Chief Executive) for the State of Queensland, has held other Chief Executive positions and was also the Office Head for the Macquarie Group in Queensland.

In 2015, Mark was a member of an Expert Panel appointed by the Federal Government that undertook a Capability Review of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).

Mark holds a Bachelor of Economics (First Class Honours) from the University of Queensland, where he is also an Adjunct Professor of Economics. In 2018, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Griffith University.
